The Bottomless Pit of Absurdity

Breaking News! A [nationalist] engineering firm in Turkey, Erke Erke A.S., has [supposedly] invented a machine that requires no energy input, but produces limitless energy [yeah right]. This piece of junk-I am sorry, brilliant invention-, which is called Erke Donergeci ("Energy Loop"), "works" on the principle of the inertia of matter. It was introduced to the Turkish community yesterday in a press conference that was attended by journalists and retired generals.

(Here's a sample link from the Turkish press covering this momentous day: http://www.milliyet.com.tr/2006/11/23/son/soneko10.asp)

The CEO of Erke Erke A.S. claimed that this invention would end wars and save the environment. He also noted that there was nothing in scientific literature that could explain how the machine worked.

Unfortunately, journalists were not allowed glimpse at this miraculous find. The patent is pending and the company is afraid their idea might be stolen!

I am speechless. Words fail me.
